Peter A. Stein

Peter A. Stein, 76, of Westlake, died Saturday August 2, 2025 while peacefully sitting in his garden.  He was born July 5, 1949 in Elyria. He was a 1967 graduate of Elyria High School and a 1971 graduate of Bowling Green State University where he was a proud member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.  After graduation, he was employed as a manager for Gimbels Department Store in Pittsburgh.  In 1973, he became one of the first male flight attendants hired by United Airlines.  Peter’s career of 32 years with United allowed him the opportunity to see the world and develop friendships throughout.  After retirement from United, he worked as a designer for his little brother, David, at Avenue Home in Lakewood, Ohio.

Peter is survived by his husband of 5 years, Mohammad Alkhatani of Westlake; mother, Mary Rose Stein of Elyria; brothers, Robert (Deborah) Stein of Fort Myers, FL and David Stein of Lakewood; niece, Carleigh (Jason) Morgan; nephew, Johnathan (Aleza) Stein and great-nieces and nephews, Louis, Grant, Avery and Delany.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard in 2013.

A private graveside service will be Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at 11:00 am at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria with Reverend R. Brooke Baker officiating.
