Rebecca L. Papenbrock

Rebecca L. Papenbrock, (nee: Rea)92, of Elyria, died Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at her home. She was born August 7, 1918 in Lorain where she was a graduate of Lorain High School and has been a long time Elyria resident. She was a member of Washington Avenue Christian Church, Elyria and served in various positions of leadership including the Board of Elders and was named Elder for Life. Rebecca was a former board member of the Elyria YWCA and enjoyed travel, gardening, cooking, volunteer work and her dog. Her family was especially fond of her maple walnut chiffon birthday cakes.



Rebecca is survived by daughters, Reanette (Steve) Frobouck of Pittsburgh, PA and Vero Beach, FL and Donna (Robert) Cunningham of Bloomfield Hills, MI and Naples, FL; granddaughters, Elizabeth Cunningham of Atlanta, GA and Amy Cunningham of Chicago, IL.



She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Frank J. in 2005; parents, Otto and Ella Rea; brothers, Alfred, Harley and Donovan Rea who was killed in the Invasion of Normandy.



Friends will be received Tuesday June 21, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A service will be Wednesday June 22, 11:00 AM at Washington Avenue Christian Church, 301 Washington Avenue, Elyria with Reverend Janet A. Long officiating. Private burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the church or Elyria Salvation Army, 716 West Broad Street, Elyria, 44035.
