Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Richard Charles Holcomb
Richard Charles Dick Holcomb, 74, passed away March 23, 2010 following a long and brave fight with cancer. He was born in Elyria on December 23, 1935 and lived his final years at the family farm in LaGrange, Ohio. Dick worked as a meat manager for the F.W. Albrecht (Acme) company for 43 years. Lately, Dick had been working at the Wilcox Christmas tree farm and was a proud, energetic founding member of the LaGrange Park board. Dick enjoyed his family, tractors, gardening, working around the house and his dogs Duffy and Bear.
His family will remember Dick as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and best friend; we will miss his sarcastic humor and devotion to us all.
He and Bunny have been happily married for 52 years and have three children: Jeff (Elyria) Holcomb, Scott (Robin) Holcomb, and Terri Lea Bones (Keith) Wiley and six grandchildren. Ryan Holcomb, Zack Holcomb, Mikhail Joe Wiley, Adam Wiley, Ricky Wiley and Elisa Lea Holcomb. His family would like to thank his many true friends, doctors and care givers who supported both he and Bunny through his illness.
At Dicks request there will be no public services. Memorial contributions may be made to the LaGrange Community Park, P.O. Box 597 LaGrange, Ohio 44050 or the American Cancer Society, 10501 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44106.
