Richard W. Murphy

Richard W. Murphy, 67, of Eaton Township, died Saturday February 8, 2025.  He was born June 16, 1957 in Elyria.  Rick had been employed at BASF formerly Harshaw Chemical as a pill machine operator before retiring in 2015.  He was a DIY handyman, enjoyed fishing and had a 1970 Chevy pickup truck which was his pride and joy.

Rick is survived by his wife of 42 years, Cheryl A. (nee Snider); daughters, Jasmine (Steven Thrasher) Murphy of Norton and Sara Murphy of Nashville, TN; grandson, Evan; father, Richard H. Murphy; sisters, Terry Lantz and Lynda (Farley) McDowell; brother, Randy Murphy and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean (nee Date) Murphy and a sister-in-law, Rita Murphy.

Friends will be received Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria.
