Robert B. Dangerfield
Robert B. Dangerfield, 69, of Elyria, died Saturday, July 24, 2010 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain.
He was born January 14, 1941 in Elyria and had also lived in Texas, California and Florida. He sailed the Great Lakes on many boats, including the Fitz and for sixteen years was employed as an assemblyman at York International, retiring in 2002. After retiring, he worked in maintenance at First Congregational United Church of Christ and the Elyria Elks Club before moving to Florida.
Bob was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ and the Elyria Elks Club. He was a builder, craftsman, fisherman and a collector of classic toys and cars.
Bob is survived by his daughter Mandy (Erik Eubanks) Dangerfield of Hoboken, NJ; brothers Douglas (Vicki) Dangerfield of Elyria and Ben Dangerfield of Merrillville, IN; nieces; nephews; cousins and his pet Labrador Retriever, Hershey.
He was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Sylvia Dangerfield; sister Christine Galloway and brother Thomas Dangerfield.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave. Elyria. The Elyria Elks Lodge #465 will conduct a service at 5:00 p.m. followed by a 5:30 p.m. memorial service with Reverend Jerry L. Murphy officiating.
