Robert T. “Bob” Huston, 73, of Amherst, died Saturday January 24, 2026 at Welcome Nursing Home. He was born December 12, 1952 in Elyria and was a 1971 graduate of Elyria High School. Bob retired after 38 years at Crane Lear Romec as a CNC machinist. He was a member for many years of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Amherst. He was also a member of the NRA and a past board member of the Lorain Rifle and Pistol Club. Bob enjoyed attending gun shows, shopping at the FIN, going on road trips, watching history documentaries, and dining at his favorite breakfast restaurants. He enjoyed retirement, and he always did everything his wife, Carolyn, asked him to do with a smile.
Bob is survived by his son, Thomas (Pam) Huston of Amherst; daughters, Melissa (Ryan) Brunner of Lorain and Bethany Huston of Toledo; grandchildren, Benjamin, Dylan, Katelyn, Trevor and Olivia; great-grandchildren, Sophia and Madeline and a sister, Jan Huston of California.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn, in 2021; son, Brian Huston in 2016 and parents, Howard and Shirley Huston.
Friends will be received Wednesday, February 4, 2026 from 5:00 pm until the time of a 7:00 pm service at Dicken, Dovin & Reber Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria, OH 44035. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
