Roger Slone

Roger Slone, 74, of Elyria, died December 29, 2023 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. He was born October 19, 1949 in Dayton Ohio and was a 1968 graduate of Elyria High school, where he met many lifelong friends. After high school, he went onto work for Standyne/Moen as a tow motor and crane operator until the early 1990’s and later worked for Shalment Corporation until he retired. Roger was a member of the Eagles Club of Elyria. He enjoyed watching many sports especially the Cleveland Browns, spending time with his grandchildren, classic cars and going to the lake. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.

Roger is survived by his daughter, Kelly (Bud) Romero of Foresthill, CA; son, Casey (Ashley) Slone of Elyria and grandchildren, Chloe, Klare, Caleb, Marianna, Owen, Abigail, Cason, Lila, Harmony and Madison.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Julice and Juanita Slone and a brother, Donnie Pittman.

Friends will be received Friday, February 23, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria.
