Russ A. Aden
Russ A. Aden, 54, of Wellington, died peacefully, November 14, 2010, surrounded by his family. He was very strong and fought his battle with cancer until the very end.
He was born April 27, 1956 in Cleveland and graduated from North Olmsted High School in 1974. He was a man of many talents, including carpentry, fabricating and building hot rods. He had rebuilt a number of cars, trucks and motorcycles but his 1950 Anglia was his favorite. He had also spent years restoring his Victorian home on Courtland Street in Wellington. He purchased his house at the age of 30 and had spent the last 24 years making it a home for his family. Everyone in Wellington probably remembers watching him strip his house down to bare wood before repainting.
Of all his talents and hobbies, hot rods were his first love. No one could take his heart away from a loud fast hot rod racing down the street.
Russ was hard working man who always said If something is worth doing, its worth doing right and he always did it right.
He has gained respect and friendships at the places he had worked: Wabash Alloys; J. Fink Equipment and Henderson Fabricating. His sense of humor was priceless and he could make anyone laugh and always did. Russ smile and laughter, which was so important to him, will be missed.
Russ is survived by a daughter Nichole F. Aden of Berea; son Chet A. Aden of Wellington; former wife, Sandra Aden (nee Clay) of Oberlin; mother Virginia L. Aden of Elyria; brother Thomas D. (Kathleen) Aden of Elyria and girlfriend Kathy Cahill of Akron.
He was preceded in death by his father George T. Aden July 27, 2010.
Friends will be received Saturday, 3 to 7 p.m. at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave. Elyria. Visitation will also be Monday from 2 p.m. until the time of a 3 p.m. service at Christ Church, 23080 Royalton Rd., Columbia Station.
