Sandra G. Pitts

Sandra G. Pitts, 73, of Elyria, passed away July 2, 2024 at UH Elyria Medical Center surrounded by her great nieces, following a long illness.  She was a fighter and never gave up despite all the battles she faced throughout her life.   Sandra was born July 16, 1950 to parents, Andrew J. and Nila J. (nee Minton) Pitts in Monroe, MI.  Soon after, she moved to Elyria where she spent the rest of her life. She was a 1968 graduate of Elyria High School and attended Bowling Green State University.  Sandra received a masters degree in education from Kent State University and was a teacher in the Midview School district for 33 years. She volunteered her time at Lorain County Metroparks where she was President of Friends of Metroparks for several terms.  She enjoyed traveling, skiing, hanging out in her pool, weaving baskets and online shopping.

Sandra is survived by her sister-in-law, Cynthia Pitts; nephew, Brian Barth; great nieces, Nichole Massey, Stephanie Norris, Paige Barth and many great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Shirley Barth and a brother, Gerald Pitts.

Per her request, there will be no services and burial will be private at a later date.
