Theresa A. Gebhardt

Theresa A. Gebhardt (nee Buss), 96, of Elyria, died peacefully Monday May 5, 2025.  She was born June 2, 1928 in Conneaut, Ohio where she was a 1946 graduate of Conneaut High School moving to Elyria in 1956.  She was a 1950 graduate of Huron Road Hospital School of Nursing, Cleveland and was employed as a registered nurse at Conneaut Hospital, Elyria Memorial Hospital and Wesleyan Village.  Theresa was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Elyria, Alter Guild of the church and taught Sunday School.  She enjoyed playing golf and had been a member of the Thursday Night Couples League at Brentwood Golf Club and a former member of Oberlin Golf Club and Junior Women’s Club.  Other interests included playing bridge and since 1970 participated in the Harvard Nurses Study.

Theresa is survived by sons, Michael L. (Nancy) Gebhardt of Elyria and Joseph P. (Cathy) Gebhardt of Fort Myers, FL; grandchildren, Amy (Andy) Wagner, Kara (Mike) Lowery, Emily (Eric) Gardner and Alexandra, Spencer, Sebastian and Brooke Ann Gebhardt and great-grandsons, David and Preston Lowery.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Theodore F. in 2004; sisters, Lee Baldwin and Sally Merritt and brothers, Don and Henry Buss.

A memorial service will be Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 11:00 am at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 360 Princeton Avenue, Elyria with Reverend Tim Scholl officiating.  Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Conneaut, Ohio.
