Timothy J. Mitchell, 57, of Elyria, died Sunday, July 3, 2011 at home surrounded by his family.He was born March 13, 1954 in Elyria, was a 1972 graduate of Elyria Catholic High School and attended Lorain County Community College. He was formerly employed as an assembler at the Ford Motor Company in Avon Lake. His interests included railroads and American history, genealogy and he was also a talented artist.Tim is survived by parents Paul and Betty (nee Ryan) Mitchell of Elyria; sisters Peggy Gilles of N. Ridgeville, Kathy (Dave) Kayden, Paula (Jerome) Lingenfelter and Molly (Duane) Streator, all of Elyria; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.He was preceded in death by grandparents John and Clara Mitchell and Alice and Willard Ryan.A memorial mass will be Saturday, July 30, 2011, 11:30 AM at St. Mary Church, 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. Reverend Charles T. Diedrick will be the celebrant. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 10501 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44106. Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elyria handled arrangements.
