Violet Ruth Mitchell (nee Moore), 89, of Amherst, died Saturday March 22, 2025. She was born July 14, 1935 in Robbins, TN and attended Robbins High School. She retired as a machinist from Teledyne Technologies. Violet enjoyed quilting, crocheting and book puzzles. Her family meant everything to her and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Violet is survived by children, Janet Crawford, Rita (William) Milks and Brenda (Robert) Stevens; grandchildren, Jason (MaryLynn), Justin (Amber), Jonathan, Tonya (Randy), Ritchie (Stacey), April, Brandon (Kimberley), Jimmy (Amanda), Michael (Samantha) and Crystal; 33 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, James A. in 2022; son; James A. Jr. in 2023; parents, John and Mary Louise Moore; grandson, Matthew James Stevens; son-in-law, Kenneth Crawford; brothers, Arvil, Patrick, Harry, Marvin and Curtis and sisters, Ada, Clara, Cindy and Myrtle.

Friends will be received Friday, March 28, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 9:30 am until the time of a 10:30 am service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Pastor Joshua L. Hargis of Elyria Baptist Church and Pastor Tony Mannon of Grace Baptist Church, Lorain will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
