Virginia P. Williams

Virginia P. Williams (nee Leininger), 94, of Elyria, died Saturday, December 13, 2025.  She was born March 17, 1931 in Spencer, OH., was a 1949 graduate of Elyria High School and resided in the same house for 71 years where she raised their children. Virginia attended First Baptist Church, Elyria and was a former telephone operator.   She enjoyed watching birds, especially cardinals and gardening.

Virginia is survived by son, Dale (Hope) Williams of Elyria; son-in-law, Ben Surmitis; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Ronald L. in 2014; daughter, Kathy Surmitis; parents, Daniel and Pearl Leininger; sisters, Wilma Kuss and Audrey Eppley Brown and a brother, Daniel Leininger.

Friends will be received Saturday, December 20, 2025 from 10:00 am until the time of a 12:00 pm service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Pastor David Burman. Jr.officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
