Willa L. Wiseman, 83, of Elyria, departed from this life January 29, 2011. She was born January 20, 1928 to the late Mark and Maggie Acklin, the tenth of thirteen children. Willa married James Wiseman in 1949 and moved to Elyria. She returned to school and received her degree as a licensed practical nurse and was employed in the maternity ward at EMH Regional Medical Center for 26 years until her retirement. Willa is survived by her husband of 61 years, James; son, James Duane (Kim)Wiseman of Atlanta, Georgia and daughter, Vicky Scott of Decatur, Georgia; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren of whom she was very proud and loved spending time with. She is also survived by a sister, Carrie Brookins and a cousin Leona Clay booth of Louisville, Kentucky and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Joey Wiseman, Sr., in 2208; 6 brothers and 5 sisters. Her favorite hobbies were visiting and cooking for her family and playing cards. Willa was a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, Elyria, under the founder and pastor Reverend William Hale and was active in the choir and the womens auxiliary board. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of a 11:00 AM service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Elder Orlando Algood officiating.
