William D. Santiago

William D. Santiago, 56, of Elyria, passed away July 5, 2024 of cardiac arrest at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center.  He was born May 21, 1968 in Lorain and was a 1986 graduate of Elyria High School.  Willy was employed at Home Team Apparel, Avon as a graphic designer. He had numerous part time jobs, including landscaping.   He enjoyed helping many people, including his mother, maintain their homes with his helper, granddaughter, Ella.  You could call Willy for help and he would, he cared. He also enjoyed music and playing poker.

Willy is survived by his mother, Shirley Varndell; step mother, Susie Santiago; children, Angela, William, Nathan and Anthony Santiago; six grandchildren; sisters, Stacey (John) Bakos, Stacey (Joel) Morales and Kathy Lopez; brothers, Paul (Jennifer) Santiago, Luis Santiago and Vincent Varndell; aunt Tammy (Sri) Haran and uncle, William (Peachy) Watters.

He was preceded in death by his father, Luis Santiago; step father, Richard Varndell and oldest brother, Louie Santiago.
