Richard J. Hadaway, 92, of Elyria, died June 16, 2017 at the Abbe Wood in Elyria. He was born May 3, 1925 in Elyria and was a 1943 graduate of Elyria High School and received a bachelor degree from Ohio Northern University. During WWII Richard served as an air plane gunner on a in the United States Navy. He was employed as an accountant at Tinnerman/Eaton Corporation for twenty five years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Elyria Elks Lodge # 465 and American Legion Post 12. He enjoyed spending time with family, reading, playing golf and watching both golf and football.
Richard is survived by daughter, Gail Haywood and son-in-law, Tim Haywood of LaGrange, Ohio, daughter, Nancy Hadaway of Ashland, Ohio; son, Rick Hadaway of Atlanta, Georgia and grandchildren, Thomas Hadaway and Emily Hadaway of Atlanta, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty one years, Marilyn A. Hadaway in 2012; parents, Fred and Anna Hadaway; brother, George Hadaway and daughter-in-law, Patricia Hadaway.
Services will be for the immediate family. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery.
