Ada Bedocs Obituary
Ada Mae Bedocs (nee Ransom), 93, of Elyria, died Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Wesleyan Village in Elyria. She was born July 2, 1918 in Cincinnati, OH and was a 1936 graduate of Elyria High School. Throughout her adult life, Ada was an active volunteer in numerous service organizations including her work as a Red Cross Blood Bank volunteer at Brookley Air Force Base in Mobile, AL, and her later service as president of the board of directors of the Elyria YWCA. She was a member of St. Mary Church and Fourthurs of the Elyria YWCA. Ada is survived by a son David L. Davies of Little Rock, Arkansas; stepdaughter and her husband, Patricia and Steven J. Bolyos of Lorain; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and her long term home caregiver and friend Faye Handrosh. She was preceded in death by husbands Lt. Col. David L. Davies, USAF ret. of 27 years in 1970 and Frank L. Bedocs of 35 years in 2006; son Lance Cpl. Timothy S. Davies, USMC; stepsons Thomas L. and Robert M. Bedocs; stepdaughter Mary Ann Smith; parents Edgar L. and Cordelia (nee Scott) Ransom and a brother Ben V. Myers, M.D. Adas family wishes to thank the physicians, nurses and technicians at EMH Healthcare that provided compassionate clinical care and the administrative and healthcare staff at Wesleyan Village that aided her with kindness in recent months. Friends will be received Monday, October 3, 2011 from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave. Elyria followed by an 11 a.m. mass at St. Mary Church, 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. Rev. Thomas J. Hagedorn will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria.
