Albert Robert Havanas, 74, of Vermilion, died November 22, 2014 at MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland after a sudden illness.He was born February 5, 1940 in Warren, Ohio and was a 1958 graduate of Elyria Catholic High School. He served with the United States Marine Corps form 1958 to 1962 and after his discharge, graduated from Oberlin School of Commerce. Bob was an entrepreneur, business owner and realtor, which included the Amherst and Ridgeview Twin Cinemas. Bob had been a Eucharistic minister at EMH Regional Medical Center and was a collector of Coca Cola and Monopoly memorabilia, a motorcycle enthusiast, landscaper and former marathon runner. Bob is survived by his children Sean (Denise) Havanas and Brian Havanas, both of Elyria; Melanie (Tim) Meyer of Highland, MI and Michael (Kristin) Havanas of North Ridgeville; grandchildren T.J., Justin and Ryan Meyer; Aiden Havanas and Ella and Jude Havanas; sister and brother-in-law Mary Ellen and Randy Redington of Steubenville, Ohio.He was preceded in death by his parents Albert R. and Mary J. Havanas.Friends will be received Wednesday, November 26, 2014 from 10 A.M. to 11:45 A.M. at Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon at St. Mary Church, 320 Middle Ave, Elyria with Reverend Father Charles T. Diedrick, celebrant and Reverend Mr. Randy Redington, Deacon.Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Cemetery, Waynesburg, PA.Bobs family expresses their appreciation to the chaplain and staff of MetroHealth Medical Center.
