Alex R. Baksa, 88, of Elyria, died August 22, 2015.He was born December 7, 1926 in Elyria. Alex played football at Elyria High School, where he was a 1945 graduate. During World War II, Alex served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army stationed in France. After his discharge from the service, he worked for several years at General Industries in Elyria where he met Dorothy his future wife. He was then employed as a supervisor at General Motors Fisher Body, Elyria, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Magyar United Church of Christ; V.F.W. Post 1079 and American Legion Post 12. His interests included playing golf, travel and watching football on television.Alex is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy E. (nee Novak); son Kevin R. Baksa of Santa Rosa, CA; sister Dorothy Schmidt of Elyria; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents Alex and Helen Baksa and a brother Theodore Baksa.Friends will be received Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 10 a.m. until the time of an 11:00 a.m. memorial service at Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 323 Middle Ave. Elyria.
