Alice H. Stilwell's Obituary
Alice H. Stilwell (nee Thielhorn), 94, passed away July 27, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was born July 28, 1931 in Gloucester City, NJ and was a long-time resident of Avon Lake, OH. She graduated from the Peter Bent Brigham School of Nursing in Boston, MA as a Registered Nurse and worked at the former St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain, OH until her retirement. She was part of the team that started the hospital’s hospice department and worked in both the in-patient unit and as an in-home travel nurse. The family traveled extensively across the US. After retirement the family enjoyed spending time on Catawba Island. Alice was a member of the Lakeshore United Methodist Church in Avon Lake.
Alice leaves behind daughters, Sharon Faroh (Richard) and Kathryn Carlson; son, Fred H. Stilwell (Rebecca); seven grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Charlotte Thielhorn and a brother, George Thielhorn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred D. Stilwell, daughter, Carolyn Stilwell and parents, Hans & Lillian Thielhorn.
Services will be private.
