Alice Turner Wolfe (nee Day), 97, of Elyria, died Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Avon Oaks Nursing Home.She was born November 30, 1913 in Washington, DC, has been a longtime resident of Elyria and had also lived in Baltimore, MD, Oberlin, OH and Sheffield Village. She was formerly employed in sales at Sears and Robert Hall, both in Elyria.She was a member of Lake Avenue United Church of Christ and Division E of the church.Alice is survived by a daughter Karen (Russell) James of Sheffield Lake; son Ralph (Mary Lou) Turner of Vero Beach, FL; daughter-in-law Helen Turner of Elyria and half sister Pat Folk of Grafton. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by husbands Orie Turner in 1982 and James Wolfe in 1988; sons Richard, Harry and Thomas Turner; brothers Walter, Jr., Ernie and Harry Day and a sister Thelma Day.Family will receive friends Wednesday, November 9, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave. Elyria. A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 10, 2011 in the funeral home with Rev. Kelly B. Brill, Senior minister of Avon Lake United Church of Christ officiating.
