Andrew J. Klein, 48, of Elyria, died April 10, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer.He was born December 13, 1964 in Strongsville and was a 1983 graduate of Elyria High School.Andy was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving on the destroyer U.S.S. Briscoe. His interests included gardening and landscaping and he was formerly employed for 20 years as nursery manager at Gerbers Garden Center in Elyria and Avon and then at Willoway Nursery in Avon, Andy was a Cleveland Browns fan and a season ticket holder in the Dawg Pound since 1989. He enjoyed golf, was a member of Brentwood Golf Club and the Elyria United Polish Club.Andy is survived by his mother Margaret Peggy Klein of Elyria; sisters Janet (Jeff) Pfeiffer and Susan Klein, both of Elyria and Laurie Klein of Salamanca, NY; brothers Royce (Leslie Sue) Klein of North Ridgeville and Douglas and William (Maria) Klein, both of Elyria; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.He was preceded in death by his father Edwin in 1997.Friends will be received Friday, April 12, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave. Elyria. Friends will also be received Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of an 11:00 a.m. funeral service in the funeral home. Reverend Charles Butcher will officiate with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Brook Park, OH, where North Ridgeville V.F.W. Post 9871 will present military honors.
