Angelina Marie DeTillio (nee: Polimene), 91, of Elyria, Ohio died March 24, 2013 at the home of her daughter in Boston. She was born February 20, 1922 in Elyria where she lived for 85 years. She was a 1940 graduate of Elyria High School and was employed for 20 years at the Lorain County Treasurers office. Angelina also worked part-time at Sears and J.C. Penney Company. She was actively involved in her community. She was a long time member of St. Mary Parish in Elyria, Altar and Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters and American Legion Post 12 Auxiliary. She was active in the Democratic Party and was a poll worker for 20 years. She had been a volunteer for 25 years at Elyria Memorial Hospital. Her other interests included cooking and quilting.Angelina is survived by her daughter, Mary Layne of Boston; sons, Frank (Jeri) DeTillio of Florida, John (Pam) DeTillio, Jr. of Columbus, Ohio and Thad (Peggy) DeTillio of Pittsburgh, PA. She was fondly called Granny by her grandchildren, Lance, Luke, Marnie, Josh, Jordan, Ashley, Shona, Brittany, Nina, Zak, Dante and Rick. She was so happy to be a great grandmother to Hanna, Geena, Sophis, Hudson, Norah, Sawyer, Gianna, Kyla, Bradeton, Cassidy, Karson, Cole, Cayden, Evangeline, Luciana and Valentina.She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. DeTillio in 2006; sisters, Ane Gerdine and Mary Ross; brother, Frank Polimene and her parents, Francessa and Stephano Polimene.A private service was held April 3, 2013 at Dicken Funeral Home in Elyria, Ohio. Reverend Charles T. Diedrick officiated with burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria. Her family feels so blessed to have had her as our mom. A memorial mass may be requested at St. Mary Church, 320 Middle Avenue, Elyria or any Catholic Church.
