As a friend of Annie's since we met as neighbors in Chapel Hill while in our twenties, I continue to give thanks for the impact she had on my life. Hers was indeed an adventurous spirit. Road trips together to the beach, excursions to Lake Eerie while visiting in Oberlin, and her trip to The Netherlands to see me the year I lived in The Hague are wonderful memories that continue to make me smile. Yes, Annie took her coffee seriously and introduced me to the best! Diabetes was a burden that she bore with amazing grace, never faulting her Creator but always looking to her Lord and Savior for comfort and direction and forgiveness. Annie was an incredibly faithful friend, often taking the initiative that sustained our contact over the years and miles. I miss you, dear friend, and hope to meet again in that place where everything is made new.
