Anna Belle Smith (nee Alltop), 97, formerly of Elyria, died Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the Suites at Walnut Creek, Dayton, OH. She was born March 28, 1919 in Gore, Ohio, the daughter of Charles and Glada Alltop, and was a 1937 graduate of Logan High School, Logan, OH. Anna Belle is survived by a brother-in-law Edward St Clair and sister-in-law Helen Smith, both of Logan, Oh, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Harold R. Smith in 2002; sisters Geneva Alltop, Nora Arnett, Opal St. Clair and Lucille Rush and a brother, Milo Alltop. Anna Belle moved to Elyria in 1942 and was employed at Ridge Tool Company for 20 years as supervisor of the billing department, retiring in 1970. She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Elyria and enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading and yard work. From 2002 to 2014, she was a resident at St Leonard in Centerville, and a resident of Walnut Creek from 2014 to her passing. Her family greatly appreciates the kind, compassionate people at Walnut Creek. Her warm smile will be greatly missed. Friends will be received Thursday, April 14, 2016 from noon until the time of a 1:00 PM service at Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. Pastor Randy Griffith of Free Methodist Church, Huber Heights, OH, Anna Belles great nephew-in-law, will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
