Arthur E. Rettkowski passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016.Art was born and grew up in Clinton, Iowa and served in the United States Navy from 1965 - 1969.Arthur leaves behind his wife, Jo Rettkowski (nee Shore); a son, Dustin Rettkowski and grandson Spencer; a daughter, Kimberly Barton and husband Chad and two step-grandsons, Tylr and Kyle Barton; his brother Hank Rettkowski and wife, Theresa; three sisters, Kathy Paasch and husband Gene, Diane Terlisner and Linda Rettkowski and countless nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Ardelle (nee Carlson) Rettkowski and his older brother August E. Rettkowski Art battled courageously against cancer for two years, along side his wife and family, but he was so much more. He was very creative and loved the challenge of a project. If you had something that needed fixed, you could always count on Art to help you out. He will be remembered for his infectious laughter and his gift of gab. He never met a stranger; he was friends with everyone he met. He loved his family and his grandson was the light of his life. His talent for woodworking can be found in everyone's home; from scrolled woodwork to figurines to furniture; Art put his heart into every piece. He will be greatly missed. He will be interred with Military Honors Monday, January 9, 2017 at 1:30 pm. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Rittman, Ohio 44270.
