We are very sorry to learn of Art's death. He lived a worthy and inspirational life.
Our condolences at this time of great loss. May the many lives he touched keep his memory in many hearts as well.
I have always admired Dr. Sperry and over the years, when he served the Dover church, had many funerals with him at Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes. We also attended a couple of meetings together and I had the utmost respect for him. He was a dedicated man who truly was the shepherd of his flock when serving his church. My grandfather, John Toland was a member of his church and great friend. Our sympathy and prayers to Dr. Sperry's family
To Beverly and Linda. I remember when your family moved to Shreve. It was a hot summer, and Beverly had to meet the new congregation being very pregnant with Linda. I remember times babysitting for Linda and going to Lakeside to babysit during the ministers' conference. I was shy about using the iron and lied about doing so: to the minister and his wife! Rev. Sperry was young and nice, an easy person to be around. I remember his activity with the MYF and our exposure to civil rights through his efforts. As a matter of fact, my sister Brenda and I spent time together this summer, and we talked about you Sperries. Thanks for the good memories, and I hope they sustain you in your loss.
