Audrey Joviak Obituary
Audrey Jean Joviak, 91, of Elyria, died Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Life Care Center of Elyria. She was born September 2, 1929 in Elyria, the fourth of four children to the late Stanley John and Caroline Christine (nee Werner) Joviak. Audrey was a 1947 graduate of Elyria High School. After graduating from Oberlin Business School, she was employed her entire career at Harshaw Chemical Company in Elyria. Upon retirement, she enjoyed extensive travels with her long-time friend Felicia Manubay, and also keeping company with many friends and family. Audrey was a second-generation lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church, Elyria and served as volunteer assistant to Pastor William Walker for many years. Later in life, she volunteered as an usher at Lorain County Community College Stocker Arts Center. She also embraced many friendships in the Filipino community and was involved as a volunteer at the annual International Festival in Lorain. Audrey will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews who shared close relationships with her. Throughout their childhood years, “AJ” generously spent time taking them on trips, picnics, swimming, celebrating their milestones, and cheering them on from the stands at Little League games, Elyria High School football games, and Keystone Marching Band events. Audrey is survived by nieces and nephews, Betsy (Mark) Pimentel, Colorado Springs, CO, Anne Norris, Elyria, Julie Armstrong, Houston, TX, Jim (Mary) Joviak, Tuscon, AZ, Eric (Joan) Joviak, Grafton, and Neal (Diane) Norris, Vermilion; 9 grand-nieces and nephews; and Felicia Manubay, whom she considered an adoptive sister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Wayne and wife, Jessie; Earl and wife, Lois; and a sister, Alice and husband, Roy Norris; and nephews, Paul and John Joviak. A graveside service will be Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria with Reverend Robert F. Weldon, Sr. officiating. Covid-19 precautions will be observed, face masks are required. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 9685 E.
