Barbara Abahazi Obituary
Barbara L. Abahazi (nee Schmidt), 79, of North Olmsted, entered into peace Saturday, March 14, 2026. She was born August 29, 1946 in Cleveland and was a 1964 graduate of James Ford Rhodes High School and a 1968 graduate of Bowling Green State University. In 1998, she received a master of library science degree from Kent State University. For many years, she was employed as a school librarian in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Barb was a member of Clague Road United Church of Christ where she was a former church moderator. She was a secretary and vice president of Friends of the Library in North Olmsted and past president of PTA and Jaycee Women, along with volunteering at the North Olmsted food pantry.
Barb is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dennis A.; sons, Jason (Carrie) Abahazi and Matthew (Amanda Berlin) Abahazi; grandchildren, Emily (Brendan), Elizabeth, C.J., Nathaniel and Lily and a sister, Marcie (Marc) Cassaro.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Rose Schmidt.
Friends will be received, Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 1:00 pm until the time of a 2:00 pm service at Clague Road United Church of Christ, 3650 Clague Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 with Reverend Ryan Collins officiating.
