Barbara Raven Obituary
Barbara J. Raven (nee Bishop), 86, of Elyria, died September 27, 2021 after a lengthy illness. She was born June 23, 1935 in Gouverneur, NY and was a 1954 graduate of Governeur High School. Barbara was formerly employed for twenty three years at the cafeteria at Elyria High School. She was a history buff and enjoyed scrap booking, photo albums, crocheting and sewing. Barbara is survived by daughters, Donna Loudermilk of Jacksonville, FL, Linda Podlich of Amherst and Shirley Shannon of Nashport, OH; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Nichols of Syracuse, NY and a brother, Rick Bishop of Rochester, NY. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold L. Raven in 2007; daughter, Susan Blackwell; son, Daniel Raven; great-grandson, Damian Shannon; great-grand daughter , Kierstyn Fowler ; brothers, Donald and David Bishop and sisters, Brenda Farrell and Karen Bishop. Friends will be received Saturday October 9, 2021 from 1:00 PM until the time of a 3:00 PM memorial service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Pastor Gene Collins will officiate.
