Barbara Mae KellyBarbara Mae Kelly (nee: Cary), 92, of Elyria died October 28, 2018. She was born May 4, 1926 in Shelby, Ohio where she attended Shelby High School. Her family moved to Sandusky and Barbara graduated from Sandusky High School in 1944. During WWII she was employed in the office of the Power and Water Plant at the Plumbrook Arsenal in Sandusky. She later moved to Lorain and in 1951 to Elyria where she was employed for thirty two years at Moen Inc., as a payroll clerk, retiring in 1988. Barbara was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, First Church Women, Elyria VFW # 1079 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a former member and long time volunteer at R.S.V.P. and had been an active member of the Elyria YWCA. She and her husband had traveled extensively. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards with friends.Barbara is survived by her husband of twenty eight years, Denver A. Kelly; daughter, Sandra (William) Mossbarger; grandchildren, Todd (Janice) Denman and Carrie (Paul) Pope; great granddaughters, Emalee Enos and Sofie Denman; step-daughters, Deborah (Mark Beard) Giannetta and Colleen (Donald) Sayers; step-son, Michael Kelly and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Cary, Sr. and Ruth Christy; grandparents, Mary and Charles Maynard; sister, Betty Riesterer and brothers, Richard and Fred Cary. Friends will be received Friday November 2, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A funeral service will be noon, Saturday November 3, 2018 at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 330 Second Street, Elyria with Reverend Patrick Nicolino officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria. Memorial contributions may be made to First Congregational United Church of Christ or Multiple Sclerosis Society, 6155 Rockside Road, Suite 202, Independence, OH 44131.
