Beatrice Shaffer Obituary
Beatrice M. Shaffer (nee: McGinity), 88, of Elyria died Thursday October 23, 2014 in her home. She was born April 26, 1926 in Willard, Ohio and was a 1944 graduate of Lorain High School. During WWII she worked on mine sweepers at the shipyards in Lorain. She was also formerly employed at Neisner Brothers and then as manager of Diversified Skills in Elyria from where she retired. Bea was a member of Community United Methodist Church in Elyria and Queen City Chapter Order of the Eastern Star in Lorain. Dancing and roller skating were some of her interests.Beatrice is survived by her husband of sixty years, Charles A.; daughters, Karen (Sean) McGee of Hillard, Ohio, Rebecca Slauter of Elyria and Diane (Keven) Wolford of Wakeman; grandchildren, Michael, Jessica and Rachel Slauter, Dewayne (Holly) Gault, Karelyn (Travis) Randolph, Hannah (Rob) Rains and Deven Wolford and six great grandchildren.She was preceded in death her parents, Bernard and Johannah McGinity.Friends will be received Saturday October 25, 2014 from 11:00 AM until the time of a 1:00 PM service at Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Reverend Donald Lare officiating.
