Bernard A. Bernie Walsh, 67, of Elyria, died February 6, 2014 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake. He was born January 13, 1947 in Waynesburg, PA where he was a graduate of Waynesburg High School. He served with the US Army form 1966-1968 and has been a resident of Elyria and Carlisle Township since 1971. Bernie was a self employed residential contractor and formerly served on the Carlisle Township Zoning Board. Some of his interests included antique cars and toys and communicating with people on his CB. He sold fresh produce at the Carlisle Township Farmers Market and was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Bernie is survived by his wife of forty four years, Diana S. (nee: Nicholson); daughters, Jody (Bryan) Willi of Elyria and Michele (Jeremy) Horner of LaGrange; grandchildren, Leslie and Valerie Willi and Landon and Lillian Horner; brother, Carlton Walsh of Port Orange, FL ,several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lillian Walsh and sisters, Mary Ellen Lewis and Charlene Walsh.Friends will be received Sunday February 9, 2014 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A service will be Monday February 10, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Reverend Rick Stein Pastor of First United Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery where Elyria VFW # 1079 will present military honors.
