Betty J. Allemeier (nee Evans), 92, of Elyria and formerly of Grafton, died December 18, 2015 in the care of Crossroads Hospice at Lake Pointe Health Care, Lorain, OH. She was born July 19, 1923 in Erie, PA and was a 1941 graduate of Dorset High School, Dorset, OH. For thirty years, Betty made her home on Robson Road in Grafton. She was formerly employed at Timms Spring Company in Elyria and for ten years was a secretary at Midview High School, retiring in 1974. She and her husband moved to Belleview, Florida, where they lived for 18 years, returning to Elyria in 2006. She was a member of LaPorte United Methodist Church and participated in several golf and bowling leagues.Betty is survived by daughters Linda (Kurt) Hanaway of Bluffton, SC and Joyce Hogan of Elyria; son John (Judy) Allemeier of Sullivan, OH; 9 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and a half sister, Allene Anderson of Linesville, PA.She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Henry H. Frosty Allemeier in 2014; daughter Barbara K. Opel in 2010; granddaughter Ronda Hogan in 1977; sister Dorothy Smith and a brother Raymond Evans.A graveside service will be Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at LaPorte Cemetery, Carlisle Township.
