Braskie H. McDonaldBraskie H. McDonald (nee: Hensley), 97, of Elyria, died July 26, 2018 at O’Neill Healthcare, North Ridgeville. She was born November 24, 1920 in Shively, WV. She lived most of her life in Harts, WV before moving to Cleveland in 1954 and Elyria in 1970. Braskie was a 1942 graduate of Logan High School and attended Marshall College in Huntington, WV where she received her teaching certificate. For twelve years she taught at Hensley grade school in Harts, WV and was a substitute elementary teacher in the Elyria Public Schools from 1971 until retiring in 1986. Braskie was a member of First Baptist Church, Elyria and a former member of Pilgrum United Chuch of Christ, Elyria and Mt. Era Church of Christ,WV.Braskie is survived by sons, Frederick (Bev) McDonald, James McDonald, Joseph (Joan) McDonald and John (Barb) McDonald; daughters, Sharon McDonald and Vickie (Rick) Freshwater; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; sisters, Gloria Parks, Sue Maynard, Louise Workman and Elsie Gavin and brothers, Ed, Lowell, Paul and Elmer Hensley.She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph H. in 2005; parents, Stonewall and Fannie Hensley; brother, Gilbert Hensley and a sister, Sylvia Smith.
