Brenda J. White (nee Hardin), 68, of Elyria, died peacefully July 15, 2014 at her home surrounded by family, following a long illness.She was born October 10, 1945 in Lumberton, NC and has been a resident of Elyria since 1972.Brenda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who always put family first.She enjoyed vacationing with her family, reading, cooking, baking and music.Her greatest achievement is the legacy of the many left behind that have been touched by her endless strength, unconditional love and wisdom.Brenda is survived by her husband of 53 years, Norman R. White, Jr.; daughters Dana J. White of Elyria, Darlene D. Lee of Shanghai, China, Donna R. Wiley of Merrimac, MA and Dianna Hatfield of Elyria and son Norman R. White, III, of Elyria; brother Leroy Doc Hardin of Lumberton, NC, Robert Hardin of Elyria James Hardin of CT and sister Betty Pelletier of Danvers, MA; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by infant son Richard B. White in 1962; parents James and Ethel Hardin; a sister Faye Hardin in 1999 and a brother Buddy Lee in 2010.Friends will be received Saturday, July 19, 2014 from 2:00 P.M. until the time of a 5:00 P.M. funeral service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. Reverend James Smucker, chaplain of Mercy New Life Hospice will officiate.
