Brenda Dolan Obituary
Brenda Lee Dolan (nee Mate), 56, of Wellington, passed away Wednesday July 28, 2021, after a brief illness, surrounded by loved ones who treasured her the most. She was born August 26, 1964 in Elyria and was a 1982 graduate of Oberlin High School and was also a graduate of Lorain County JVS. She met the love of her life, Carl, Jr., in high school, were married June 22, 1982 and had an amazing 39 years of love. Brenda had a passion of caring for her family and others, including her daughter who had spina bifida, requiring constant daily care. She worked with veteran senior citizens and at many mentally disabled group homes. She had also been employed at the Lorain County girls juvenile detention center. Interests included making homemade crafts, was excellent at cross stitch and enjoyed cutting the grass on her John Deere tractor. Most of all, she loved being with her family, including the most recent love of her life, her only grandchild, whom she adored very much. Brenda is survived by her husband of 39 years, Carl, Jr.; daughter, Crystal (Aaron) Hall; grandson, Colton, all of Wellington; sister-in-law, Anna (Ayman) Abuzeidieh of Elyria; sisters, Susan Moore of Wakeman, Deborah (Delnora) Bennett of Elyria, Sherry (Sam) Perry of Oberlin, Kathy Hartwick of Lorain, and Joanna Mate of Oberlin; special niece and nephews, Angelina Gonzalez, Bryan Osbourne, Aaron (Brooke) Osbourne; and numerous other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Amber Marie Dolan; parents, Frank and Laura (nee Adams) Mate and in-laws, Carl Sr. and Yvonne Dolan. Friends will be received Monday, August 2, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria.
