Bruce A. Siffert, 76, of Elyria, died May 19, 2015 in his home.He was born October 11, 1938 in Elyria and was a 1956 graduate of Elyria High School. He also attended Oberlin Business College and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a former fireman with the City of Elyria Fire Department and then was employed for many years by Don Beal Inc. and retired from Don Moulds Plantation.Bruce was a member of Washington Avenue Christian Church and chairman of the Diaconate. He was a former elder and from 1969 to 1998, served as church treasurer. He was a board member and volunteer of Lakeshore Railway Association and was formerly active in Little League South. Other interest included golf, bowling, fishing and reading.Bruce is survived by a son, Jack A. (Debbie Stang) Siffert; granddaughters, Emily and Lauren Siffert; sisters, Kathy (Benny) Greer and Patty (Roy) Lewis; 2 nieces; 3 nephews; 1 great niece, 1 great nephew and his former wife, Sharon Siffert, all of Elyria. He is also survived by an aunt, Birdie Everett of Vermilion.He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Evelyn Siffert.Friends will be received Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 5 to 8 P.M. at Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. A memorial service will be Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at noon at Washington Avenue Christian Church, 301 Washington Avenue, Elyria. Reverend Janet A. Long will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Washington Avenue Christian Church.
