Byrd Washington “B.W.” Cash, Jr., 70, of Louisville, KY, died unexpectedly April 6, 2021. He was born April 23, 1950 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Lula Mae (nee Jeffries) and Byrd W. Cash, Sr and raised by his grandmother, Josie Forbes. He attended Ardmore Senior High School and received an associate degree in business administration from Lorain County Community College. For 30 years, including 7 as a supervisor, he had been employed at Ford Motor Company Ohio Assembly Plant, Avon Lake, retiring in 2005. Byrd was a member of Bates Memorial Baptist Church in Louisville. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, golf and riding his motorcycle. Byrd leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 51 years, Johanna G. (nee Gibbs) Cash; children, Alfonzo (LaShonda) Cash, Dawnzell Cash Brown and Lonzell Cash; grandchildren, Alfonzo, Jr., Lonzell, Myah, Kiana, Bryon, Ayanna, Malachi, Simone and Julian; a great-granddaughter, Aniyah; and a brother, Noel (Pam) Cash. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Willie Miral Johnson and Mabel Fitzpatrick; and brothers, Benny, Gene, Sr., JC and Johnny L. Cash. B.W. was loved and will be missed by family and friends. Friends will be received Friday, April 16, 2021 from 11:00 am until the time of a 1:00 pm service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Pastor Lee Anderson and Bishop Emmett Lee officiating. Burial will be in Westwood Cemetery, Oberlin.
