Caleb Neth Obituary
Caleb S. Neth, 78, formerly of Collins, OH, died Saturday February 4, 2012, at the home of his daughter in North Ridgeville, OH, with whom he had lived for the past year. He was born at home on January 31, 1934 in Belle Vernon, PA. He was a 1952 graduate of Rostraver High School. He was in the US Army 101st Airborne Division from 1956-58. He then attended the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics where he received his certification as an A&P Mechanic and started working for United Air Lines. His career with UAL moved him from California to Utah to Ohio to Virginia and back to Ohio. He retired from UAL in 1993 and settled in Collins, OH.He enjoyed airplanes, camping, fishing, and carpentry work. He was an active member of St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church in Norwalk and a former member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Elyria. Both churches still have cabinetry that Caleb built for them.He is survived by his son Robert Caleb Neth of Amherst; daughters Kathryn (Joseph) Arhar of North Ridgeville and Patricia (Peter) Jagielski of New Albany, OH. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Kayla, Rebecca, & AnnMarie Arhar, Carolen (Francisco) Covarrubias, Jacob Neth, and Noah & Holland Jagielski and one great-grandson Gabriel Covarrubias; twin brother Phillip of Prince William, VA, brother Warren Neth of Phoenix, AZ, and one sister Betty Kulik of Belle Vernon, PA.He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years Eleanor (Crusan) Neth in 2007, brother Robert Neth in 2005 and sister Helen Kosisky in 2011.Friends will be received Tuesday, February 7th, 2012, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria, OH. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 9th, 2012, at St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church, 243 Benedict Avenue, Norwalk, OH. Pastor Roger Harms will officiate and inurnment will follow on the church grounds. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice of Sandusky (1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870) or the Building Fund at St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church.
