Carl Henry Leslie, Jr., 72, of Amherst and formerly of Grafton, died October 30, 2020. He was born April 18, 1948 in Elyria and was a 1967 graduate of Elyria High School. A football and track star at Elyria High where he held the shot put record for over 25 years. From 1969-1970, he served as a mine dog handler in South Vietnam with the 63rd IPSD Americal Division where he was awarded a Bronze Star and Air Medal. Carl was employed for 35 years at Ford Motor Company, retiring in 2007. He was an amateur photographer and especially enjoyed photographing the sporting events of his daughters. He was also an avid golfer playing at Oberlin County Club. Carl is survived by his wife of 42 years, Brenda A. (nee Vargo); daughters, Cari (Andy) Svitak of Goodyear, AZ and Dana Leslie of Lakewood, OH; brother, Gary Leslie of Elyria; and grandpuppies, Bella, Zoe and Thor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Sr. and Mary Leslie and sister, Barbara Moran. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lorain County Metro Parks c/o Carl H.
