Carol Mele Obituary
Carol J. Mele (nee Songer), 67, of Elyria, died December 22, 2020 at St. John Westshore Hospital, Westlake. She was born August 17, 1953 in Elyria, was a 1971 graduate of Elyria High School and attended Ashland University. For 39 years, she had been employed at Evergreen Packaging, retiring in 2016. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 431, Elyria and enjoyed crafting, crocheting, painting, ceramics and baking. Carol is survived by her children, Michelle (Randy Robinson) Songer, Jessica (Mathew) McCallister and Jason (Samantha Kershaw) Mele all of Elyria; step-children, Daniel Mele and Babbette (Stanley) Lysandrou; grandchildren, Kaylee, Jada, Evan, Jackson, Spencer, Aiden and Nicole; great-grandchildren, Mason and Mylaina; brothers, Donald Songer and Chris (Debbie) Songer; and sisters, Becky (Kenny) Uehlein and Debbie (Bob) Humphrey. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Helen (nee Mills) Songer. Friends will be received Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 2:00 pm until the time of a 4:00 pm service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Elder Mike Smith and Pastor Phil Petrey of Amelia First Church of God, Amelia, Ohio will officiate.
