Carolyn Southworth Obituary
Carolyn F. Southworth (nee McCullough), 86, of Elyria, went home to be with her Lord and Savior November 22, 2021. She was born February 20, 1935 in Templeton, PA and was a 1953 graduate of Kittanning High School, moving to Elyria in 1961. She had been employed as a bookkeeper at Parker Transfer Company, AuWerter Office Supply and Conrad’s Tire Center at Midway Mall. Carolyn was a member of Abbe Road Baptist Church and for 50 years was a leader in the AWANA program. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, crocheting and quilting. Carolyn is survived by daughters, Sharon (Barry) Taylor and Donna (Don) Newbill both of Elyria; grandchildren, Brian (Dani) Taylor, Spring Valley, OH, Jason (Kellie) Simcik, Temecula, CA, Steven (Cassie) Taylor, Towanda, PA, Jared (Erica) Simcik, Massapequa, NY, Brent (Karrie) Taylor, Wellington, OH, Jeremy (Jackie) Simcik, Manor, TX, Heather (Rick) Dale, Alliance, OH and Heidi (Billy) Boesken, Elyria, OH; and great-grandchildren, Gabriel Dale, Owen Taylor, Sabrina Simcik, Quinn Dale, Reeselyn Taylor, Audrey Simcik, Jace Taylor, Peyton Boesken, Madelyn Simcik and Derrick Boesken. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Merle J. in 1995; father, O.J. McCullough; mother, Naomi Christy; sister, Janice Morris; and brothers, Edwin and Joseph McCullough. Friends will be received Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 10:00 am until the time of an 11:30 am service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Pastor Cal Searles officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
