Charles "Chuck" W. Jones' Obituary
Charles “Chuck” W. Jones, 84, of Elyria passed away peacefully Saturday, July 4, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born July 12, 1941, in Owensboro, Kentucky.
Chuck was a dedicated employee of General Motors Fisher Guide Elyria, retiring after 28years. He owned and operated ABC Security Systems in Elyria and helped his wife at her floral shop, “Wood-n-Things.” He was a self-taught handyman who could fix just about anything. He loved gardening, skiing, electronics and especially spending time with his family.
He will be remembered as a wonderful Father, and for his strong work ethic, generous heart, and willingness to help anyone in need.
Chuck is survived by children Denise (Don) Brackenhoff and Stephen (Kim) Jones, grandchildren, Jacob (Brynne) Jones , Matthew (Emily) Brackenhoff, and Sarah (Chris) Rampertap, great-grandchildren, Adeline Brackenhoff and Maisie Jean Jones, siblings, Glenda (Loren) Asbell, Roger (Diane) Jones, Clifford Jones, Pam (Harold) Walker, Nancy (Bill) Wiegent, and Timothy (Sue) Jones and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Ruby Jean in 2023; brothers, Kenny and Mike Jones and parents, William and Eva (nee Goins) Jones.
Chuck’s legacy of hard work, generosity, and love for his family will live in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Friends will be received Friday, July 10, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Calvary Baptist Church, 114 Hope Court, Elyria, OH. Friends will also be received Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 10:00 am until the time of an 11:00 am service at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Smith officiating.
