Charlotte Collins Obituary
Charlotte Nelson Collins of Oberlin and formerly of Melbourne Beach, FL, died March 26, 2014 at Kendal at Oberlin, where she resided since 2000.She was born in Chicago and graduated from the University of Illinois (Champaign-Urbana), where she met her husband Bob and they were married after graduation.She is survived by two children and four grandchildren. Charlotte involved herself in school activities, church, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and when the children entered high school, she worked as attendance administrator at their school and took nature courses at Mortons Arboretum in Lyle, IL. After the children were on their own, Bob and Charlotte traveled to Europe Scandinavia, Hawaii, the South Pacific, Australia and New Zealand. Charlotte was a Cub Scout Den Mother and all around outdoors girl and enjoyed hiking, bird watching, reading, knitting, embroidering and traveling. A celebration of Charlottes life will be Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 10:45 a.m. in the Whittier Lounge at Kendal at Oberlin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Charlottes name may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 9775 Rockside Rd., Suite 270, Valley View, OH 44125.Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elyria handled arrangements.
