Charlotte VanBoven Obituary
Charlotte M. VanBoven (nee Knowlton), 93, of Penfield Township, died August 11, 2023 in her home. She was born October 17, 1929 in Lorain, was a 1947 graduate of Elyria High School, moving to Penfield Township in 1968. Charlotte had been employed at Bendix Corporation as an office manager for over twenty years. She was a member of Faith Christian Church, an avid quilter, a state champion archer, a member of Black River Bowbenders and a life member of the National Rifle Association. Charlotte is survived by her sister-in-law, Emma Knowlton; nephews, William (Suz), Robert (June), Richard (Jennifer), David and Steve (Michelle) Knowlton; a niece, Teri Zent and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd R. VanBoven in 1994; brothers, Willis and Dale Knowlton; sister-in-law, Marlene Knowlton and a niece, Pamela Loescher. Friends will be received Friday August 18, 2023 from 11:00 AM until the time of a 1:00 PM service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Reverend Tom Keller officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Penfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Christian Church, PO Box 309, Spencer, OH 44275 or a charity of choice.
