Daniel E. Turner, 39, of Elyria, died Sunday, January 15, 2012 at EMH Healthcare after a long illness.He was born July 3, 1972 in Berea and was a 1990 graduate of Elyria High School. He had formerly lived in Oceanside, CA and Denver, CO, where he worked as a counselor with troubled youth before moving back to Elyria in 2008. He enjoyed hiking, snowboarding, mountain biking, playing the bass guitar and drums and reading.Daniel is survived by his parents Gene and Vickie Turner of Elyria; brother Thomas (Wendy) Turner of Elyria; sister Heidi Fulton of Parma Heights; nieces Emily Turner, Kylah and Chloe Fulton and nephews Benjamin Turner and Caden Fulton and grandmother Opal Howell of Grafton.He was preceded in death by grandparents Homer Howell and Eugene and Jane Turner.Family will receive friends Friday, January 20, 2012 from 5:30 p.m. until the time of a 7:00 p.m. memorial service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave. Elyria, OH 44035. Reverend John G. Vrana, associate pastor of St. Jude Church will officiate. Memorial contributions to benefit Daniels nephew Caden may be made to Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Rainbow Babies and Childrens Hospital, Dept. of Development, P.O.
