Darlena A. Howard (nee McGuire), 72, of Elyria, died June 19, 2022 at home surrounded by her family. She was born July 8, 1949 in Hamilton, Ohio and was a 1967 graduate of Vermilion High School. From 1992 until she retired in 2020, she was employed by the Lorain County Department of Job & Family Services as an accounting clerk in the child support enforcement agency. Darlena enjoyed reading, crocheting, watching western movies, and attending garage sales and flea markets. Darlena is survived by her son, Robert L. (Kimberly) Howard, Jr. of Littleton, CO; grandsons, Alex and Nate Howard; brother, Howard (Rosemarie) McGuire; cousin, Sandra Neely; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert L., “Bob” Sr. in 2020; parents, Russell and Frances McGuire. Friends will be received Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from 11:00 am until the time of a 1:00 pm service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Pastor Daryl Meyers will officiate. Burial will follow in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. There are no gallery images.
