Darrell G. McKinney, 72, of Oberlin, died in his home May 10, 2016.He was born September 10, 1943 in Louisa, Lawrence County, Kentucky and has been a longtime Oberlin resident. He was formerly employed as a machine operator at Seaway Bolt and currently at General Plug and Manufacturing in Oberlin. He was a lifelong hunter, a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed spending time with his family.Darrell is survived by his wife of 52 years, Donna J. McKinney (nee Driscoll); daughter, Barbara A. Lovell of Parma Heights; son Robert G. (Catherine) McKinney of Elyria; grandchildren, Nicki and Cameron Lovell, Allyssa, Mason and Logan McKinney; siblings Carol Chandley, Harold McKinney and Linda Slanczka.He was preceded in death by his parents Lovell and Maxine McKinney.The family will receive friends Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 1 p.m. until the time of a 7:00 p.m. memorial service at Elyria AMVETS Post 32, 11087 Middle Ave., Elyria, OH 44035. Arrangements were in the care of Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elyria.
