David A. Fackler, 65, of Elyria, died June 30, 2014 at The Cleveland Clinic.He was born February 18, 1949 in Elyria and was a 1967 graduate of Elyria High School. From 1969 to 1971, he served in Vietnam as a sergeant with the U.S. Army.Dave graduated in 1973 from Bowling Green State University with a bachelor degree in accounting and from Baldwin Wallace College in 1990 with a masters degree in business. He was employed for 32 years by Ford Motor Company at the Lorain Assembly Plant and Ohio Truck Plant, where he retired in 2006 as cost analyst supervisor. Dave enjoyed spending time with his family, playing golf and boating and was a member of Bay Point Marina in Marblehead, OH. He was a member of Elyria Elks Lodge 465, Elyria V.F.W. 1079 and Elyria American Legion Post 12.David is survived by his wife of 42 years Kathy (nee Green); son Jason (Kristin) Fackler of Hilton Head Island, SC; brothers Charles Fackler of Mountain Rest, SC and Dennis Fackler of Rutland, OH and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Wesley and Charla Fackler.Friends will be received Friday, July 4, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. A service will be Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 360 Princeton Ave., Elyria, OH 44035 with Reverend Paul E. Jaster officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township with Elyria V.F.W. #1079 conducting military honors.Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
